Getting steadier results from an AI assistant

Starting a fresh chat for every task means repeating your context and getting generic output. One dedicated project, kept up to date, is the single change that improves everything after it.

Applas does not provide the AI model

Every prompt here is written for you to paste into the assistant of your choice. Applas never sends your resume, cover letters, or personal statements to an AI provider. Decide what personal information you are comfortable sharing with that provider, and review any output carefully before using it.

Set up one project for your search

  1. Open the AI assistant you plan to use for your job search.
  2. Create a dedicated project, folder, or long-running chat and name it clearly.
  3. In the first message, share your target roles, your master resume, your key strengths, and the kind of role you are seeking.
  4. If you are comfortable, add previous personal statements or writing samples so the assistant learns your real voice.
  5. Reuse the same project for every tailoring, drafting, and proofreading task.
  6. Update it as you go, with new resume versions, new experience, and interview outcomes.

Setup prompt

I am starting a dedicated project to help with my job search. Please keep the context I share here in mind for future requests in this conversation.

Here is my background:

Target roles/industries: [FILL IN]

My master resume: [PASTE RESUME]

Previous personal statements or application essays, if available: [PASTE OR NOTE "NONE AVAILABLE"]

Key strengths or themes I want to come across consistently: [FILL IN]

Please use this context to help keep my voice, strengths, and goals consistent across future resume edits, cover letters, and personal statements I ask you to help with in this project.

General prompting tips

  • Be specific about the role, the company, and the outcome you want.
  • Paste the full job description, not a summary.
  • Ask the assistant to state what it is confident about and unsure about before it writes.
  • Ask for edits in before-and-after format so you can see exactly what changed.
  • Always tell it not to invent facts, metrics, or experience.
  • Refine rather than accepting the first draft.

Proofread your resume

Full resume proofread

Review the resume below for spelling, grammar, punctuation, inconsistent tense, unclear wording, formatting inconsistencies, and weak or repetitive bullet points.

Do not invent or assume accomplishments. First, list specific issues you found. Then suggest edits in a clear before-and-after format. Preserve my voice and factual accuracy.

Bullet point pass

Review these resume bullet points and suggest clearer, stronger versions using action verbs and measurable outcomes only where already supported by the text. Do not invent numbers, responsibilities, or results.
